Williams apparently telephoned Syd Little to share the problem, complaining that it was disrupting his sleep. The two men share a mutual acquaintance in Jonathan Wilkes, the actor and singer.

Little, 65, said: "I couldn't believe it when Robbie rang me up and I just thought it was Bobby Davro winding me up doing an impression. But then he explained that he'd been talking to Jonathan Wilkes and I realised the call was genuine." He told Lancashire's 106.5 Central Radio: "Robbie then went on to say that he had recurring dreams, almost nightmares, which involved Little and Large but, now that he'd spoken to me, the dream had been broken."

Little and partner Eddie Large have been entertainers for nearly 50 years, hitting the big time in the late 1970s and regularly appearing on prime time television in the 1980s. They now enjoy cult status. Williams, 44, the former Take That star, currently lives in Los Angeles after turning his back on the music industry.

Serves him right, I've been having nightmares about Take that for years.
